Our Journey

My name is Devon and I, along with my fiance and co-founder Matt, could not be more excited to introduce Zoomies, Chicago's Premier Indoor Dog Park.

In June of 2019, we adopted Ruby from Wright-Way Rescue, in Morton Grove, IL. The photo on the left is from the first time we laid eyes on her. She had a broken leg at the time (check out the purple cast on her back left leg in the photo) and, needless to say, it was love at first sight.

Yes, we know how lucky we are.

No, we don't know how it's possible for anyone to put this face up for adoption (although we are grateful for their poor judgement each and every day!!).

Ruby is a Goldendoodle, which among many other things, means that she needs a lot of exercise. A lot. So, Matt and I spend every single night, rain or shine, snow or sleet, at the local dog park to make sure she is happy, healthy, and exercised to her heart's content.

Ruby has the uncanny ability of quickly sniffing out every muddy puddle in her vicinity and makes it a point to ensure that all of them are sufficiently rolled-around-in. For her, that's heaven. For us, that's another 45 minutes on top of the trip to the dog park to make sure she's clean and dry before we settle in for the night. As full-time professionals, this typically leaves us with about two hours to grab dinner and unwind before it's time to go to sleep and do it all over again.

We believe that taking care of your dog shouldn't feel like a chore. Looking after your dog's well-being shouldn't come at the sacrifice of your own. With Zoomies, it doesn't have to be.
